44 Miles from the South Pole

We’re on the Polar Plateau. Yesterday we did about ten miles in eight hours and today we did nearly 11 miles in eight hours and now we’re only 44 miles away from the South Pole so hopefully we’ll reach the Pole by Friday 9th (which we were meant to). We got put back two days but we’re making up time at the moment. It’s been very hot and sunny with blue skies, not much wind, but still about minus 35. Today my back is quite sore from pulling my sledge but I managed to finish the day and its feeling much better. I finished my munchy bags today so I had enough energy to keep going. I’m just in the tent now at the end of the day. I’ve just had some soup and am about to have dinner now.

So sorry I missed you

Dear Team. I received an email late yesterday from Lynne, saying David had called and that you had made fantastic progress. well done all of you, you must be working so hard to cover those distances. I also had a message from Nicks brother to say you had called, I'm so sorry we missed each other and weren't able to speak, but its wonderful to hear that things are going well and that the weather has been kind to you so far. We cant wait to see you all home again. I do hope you will post some pictures when you reach the pole, we are in awe of what you are all doing. masses of love Ted Jack and Sam x

Well done Amelia, sounds like you're doing an amazing job.... good work! It's a challenge in itself to be out there with that motley crew, let alone in those conditions :o) Keep going and remember... never, never, never give up. Looking forward to seeing the pic of you at the Pole! Best wishes to the whole team. Nige
